Anchorage to Homer, AK

August 6, 2013

The drive was just over 220 miles to Homer. Along the Turnagain Arm, it was very windy. Although we looked for goats, sheep and whales, none were to be seen. We took a drive into Portage Glacier. We saw it 24 years ago, nothing to see this time. Maybe something is left up the other end of the Lake. We decided the toll was too much to drive through the tunnel to Whittier with a rainy day. I’m glad we did not, a some who did said there was not a thing to see except cruise ship docks and a motel.
