Prince George to Valemount, BC – So This is What We Missed
September 2, 2013
What can I say about Valemount and the drive here except why did they remove this segment from the
Caravan? The drive was great on near perfect roads. We arrived here in the
middle of a valley with great looking farms and mountains all around us. Some
pictures will prove the point. Hinton was nice, but this is great! The weather
was perfect today, warm, sunny, light winds, and rapid cooling at night.

Grumpy Speaketh! Scary isn't it?

We arrived in time to go on an off-road drive to the west of
Valemount. Round trip it was about 22 miles of towering trees, mountains,
streams and gorgeous vistas. We found the end of the road and beyond, but 50
yards of reverse got us out of “beyond”…the “Discontinued Road.” Enjoy the pictures;
many are from the Go-Pro wide angle camera. Yes the road got just a bit narrow
in spots…less than the Suzuki. Despite hopes, we saw no big game.

Nice birdie! Wanna come to dinner?

Now I see that damned sign! Oh well, we got out, just back up 50 yds using rearview mirror and brush scraping car. Whot me caution? Now that's an "extreme."
